Peter Supersano

Peter Supersano was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and lived in Bridgeport and Stratford, Connecticut until moving to Reno in December of 1983. Peter has played many styles of music including rock, pop, top-40, show music, solo piano, big band, and jazz professionally since 1973. He has written several jazz compositions, and has done some arranging for small band. He also o?ers instruction in jazz improvisation and music theory and harmony. While in Connecticut, he studied for a short while with John Mehegan, jazz pianist and author of an acclaimed series of books on jazz improvisation. Since he has been in Reno, he has played in clubs, casino lounges, showrooms, and jazz concerts. He has played with many local artists and bands including the Reno Jazz Orchestra and has had the fortune to accompany some well-known artists including The Four Aces, The Four Lads, Frank Gorshin, Rich Little, Phyllis Diller, and jazz greats including Carl Fontana, Don Menza, Bill Watrous, Teddy Edwards, and Mads Tolling. He was the assistant conductor for the Reno production of the Broadway show “Smokey Joe’s Cafè” . He has also played for the Tahoe Players, Good Luck Macbeth theater company, and Reno Little Theatre. Peter is on the Board of Directors of For the Love of Jazz, and the Executive Board of the Reno Musicicans’ Union
